Watch the Port Aransas Sky Come Alive

Add a little extra color to your fall getaway! Fly It Port A’s Fall Kite Fest returns to the Port Aransas beach on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for a full day of incredible kites, Gulf breezes, and family-friendly fun.

The main event gets underway around 10:00 a.m., with kite flyers setting up along the beach between Beach Markers 1 and 20. Look to the sky throughout the day for kites of all shapes, sizes, and colors soaring over the Gulf.

While Saturday is the main event, you may spot kites flying throughout the weekend. And if the evening winds cooperate, stick around—you might even catch glowing night kites lighting up the beach after sunset!

Bring a Kite—or Just Enjoy the View

Everyone is welcome to join the fun. Bring your own kite and fly alongside the other participants, or simply find a spot on the beach and enjoy the show.

Fly It Port A’s Fall Kite Fest is free, open to the public, and fun for all ages. Kite flying is weather and wind dependent, so be sure to check Fly It Port A’s social media as the event gets closer for the latest updates.

Make your Port Aransas getaway even more memorable with a visit to the 2026 Port Aransas Wooden Boat Festival. This annual three-day, family-friendly celebration showcases the craftsmanship and coastal heritage of wooden boat building, with an impressive collection of handcrafted kayaks, paddleboards, skiffs, sailing boats and historic Farley boats.

The festival celebrates a boat-building tradition with deep roots in Port Aransas. The Farley brothers began building some of the country’s first production sportfishing boats here in 1915, and today that legacy continues through Farley Boat Works and the community surrounding it.

One of the festival’s signature attractions is the Family Boat Build, where families and teams take on the challenge of constructing a wooden Port A skiff during festival weekend before the finished boats are launched at the marina. Visitors can also enjoy beautiful wooden boats, coastal activities and a celebration of the maritime traditions that have helped shape Port Aransas.

Planning a November stay? Book one of our Port Aransas condos and make the Wooden Boat Festival part of your island getaway.
