Witness the spectacular fall migration of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, the stars of the show, along with Rufous, Black-chinned, and Buff-bellied Hummingbirds. This event offers something for everyone, from backyard birders to experienced birders, with topics and activities covering hummingbirds, butterflies, cranes, hawks, and even habitat development in your backyard. Enjoy various events, including guided nature tours (walks, bus trips, and even boat trips!), dinners, breakfasts, brunches, photography classes, local vendors, and much more. ARRRRGH! Get your booty to the parade! Celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 21, 2024, by joining the 12th Annual Pirate Parade! All monetary donations will be accepted to benefit local children. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place will be awarded for the best outfit and best ride! Begin lining up at The Gaff, 323 Beach Street, at 4 p.m. The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. 2024 Parade Route:

• Start from The Gaff (323 Beach Street)
• Turn left on S. Station Street
• Turn right on Ave C
• Turn right at Alister Street
• Turn right at Cotter Street
• Turn right at Station Street
• Left on Beach Street and return to The Gaff

Surf's up! It's that time again for the Port A Annual Surf Fest! Join us on September 28 from 8 AM to 4 PM at the Horace Caldwell Pier to catch gnarly waves and soak up the sun. Lunch from the Hot Dog Lady will be available for purchase on the beach. Friday Registration Party Kick off the fun at the Friday Registration Party! Pick up your swag bags, meet the competition, and enjoy live music.

Visit the Patton Center for Marine Science Education (855 East Cotter Ave.) every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. for a story about animals. Stories are chosen and read by local volunteer, Linda.
