Birding on the Boardwalk Every Wednesday

Join intelligent Port Aransas guides to tour you around the Nature Preserve’s Leonabelle Boardwalk every Wednesday at 9 am. This walk will be short along our boardwalk but offers excellent opportunities for watching our incredible species of Gulf Coast Birds.

Guides Ray Dillahunty and Leslie Hoesktra will lead the group! There are two shaded observatory platforms and benches and TWO spotting scopes.

Take the boardwalk to the left and for a more significant hike. The site is now connected to the Nature Preserve at Charlie’s Pasture South Trail, which continues 1.25 miles over salt marsh and grassland prairie habitats.  The walk includes an observation tower about halfway down the trail.
