This short but enriching walk along our boardwalk provides fantastic opportunities to observe the wonderful birds of the Gulf Coast. The 89th Deep Sea Roundup will be held July 10-13, 2025. Registration information will be available on the website. The Deep Sea Roundup, the oldest fishing tournament on the Texas coast, is sponsored by Port Aransas Boatmen Inc. – an organization with an equally long and illustrious history. For more than nine decades, members of the Boatmen have served as town mayors and city councilmen, guided governors, dignitaries,  and a president on fishing trips, supported many community activities with manpower and funding, and helped Port Aransas gain and maintain its identity as a world-class fishing community.

All boys and girls (12 or younger) get ready for the Piggy Perch Division of Deep Sea Round Up! Ages 5 and younger will fish at 9 a.m., and ages 6 to 12 will fish at 9:45 a.m. Children should meet at the Pavilion at Roberts Point Park, at least 15 minutes before fishing time. No registration is necessary; judges will register them at the weigh-in. So, tackle up and get ready for a fun day of fishing! It will be a fun and exciting day for all little anglers. Schedule for Friday, July 11 2025:

• 9-9:30 a.m.—Piggy Perch Contest ages 5 and under.
• 9:45-10:15 a.m.—Piggy Perch Contest ages 6 to 12.
