October is upon us all. Some say October is the best month to be in Port Aransas. This can often be for many reasons. The Summer season has come to a close and the crowds have subsided. This provides a slower paced atmosphere and helps everyone get back on the notorious “Island Time”. A great benefit for those wanting to come to the Coast in October is that thrifty travelers can typically find a few vacation specials or promotions. Reduced crowds and lower rental rates are just part of the allure of Port Aransas in October.
Many would say that the weather is what makes October the best month to visit Mustang Island. Temperatures lower from Summer yet the sun still warms your skin and provides excellent tanning conditions. There is almost always a cool breeze. The perfect amount of afternoon showers in October keeps the grass bright green and the water the perfect shade of blue. Hurricane season officially ends in October and Port Aransas is happy to see another Hurricane season in the rearview mirror.
