Along with two large pools (one heated November through February), two hot tubs, and a private boardwalk to the Gulf, La Mirage has a splash pad, a real favorite for toddlers and preschoolers who are not quite ready for a pool. The three-story layout wraps around a palm-lined courtyard, which gives parents that reassuring line of sight while the kids run between the pool, the sports courts, and the picnic tables.
Units range from efficiency studios up to three-bedroom condos between 700 and 1,250 square feet, so you can size up as the family grows. Every unit at La Mirage has a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The resort is a 25-minute drive from Corpus Christi if you want a day off the island.
Sandcastle: Best for Larger Families

Between the heated outdoor pool and hot tub, private tennis courts, exercise room, game room with shuffleboard and table tennis, and a lobby library, there is plenty to fill a rainy afternoon or a lazy Tuesday. The 24/7 front desk and daily maid service take a lot off your plate, too.
Sandpiper sits at 6745 Seacomber Drive, tucked between Port Aransas and North Padre Island in a quieter stretch of Mustang Island. Choose from one-, two-, or three-bedroom units, each with a private beachfront balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, and access to on-site laundry.
Casa: Best for a Quieter Family Getaway
Not every family wants a bustling beach scene. If yours travels for the calm, Casa Condominiums has an enclosed pool deck and courtyard that gives the whole property a private, tucked-away feel. There is a heated pool (November through February), a Texas-sized hot tub, BBQ pits by the pool, and what the property calls the closest boardwalk to the beach.
Units range from studios to two-bedroom units, with fully equipped kitchens, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi. Complimentary coffee on the first floor is a nice morning touch. Bookings require guests to be 25 or older, which tends to keep the vibe grown-up and low-key.
Sea Gull: Best for Families Who Love Fishing
Port Aransas is one of the top fishing towns on the Gulf Coast. Sea Gull leans into it. There is a dedicated fish-cleaning station on-site, a poolside grilling area to cook your catch, and a full kitchen in every condo with granite counters that make it easy to prep a fresh redfish. Beyond fishing, the 11-acre property has a large resort pool (heated in the cooler months), a hot tub, resurfaced tennis courts, basketball courts, an exercise room, and a game room with pool and ping-pong tables.

Gulf Shores: Best for Beach Lovers
At Gulf Shores Resort Condos, the beach is a 50-foot walk down the private boardwalk. It is the closest of our Port Aransas resorts on the beach to the sand, which matters when you have kids ready to run at 7 AM. The property sits on a quieter south-side stretch about 7 miles from downtown Port Aransas. Each unit has a 27-foot-wide balcony for oversized Gulf views.
The gated pool area has an adult pool, a kiddie pool, a jacuzzi, sun chairs under a shade pergola, and a jungle gym for the little ones. There is also an indoor game room, hammocks, a basketball hoop, a covered BBQ area, and a dog walk zone. Bring the beach chairs and towels that the property stocks for guests, and you are set.
How to Choose the Right Condo Resort for Your Family
If the beach itself is the priority, Gulf Shores is the shortest walk to the beach. If you are traveling with multiple households or a big group, Sandcastle has the deepest inventory. Families with toddlers usually love La Mirage’s splash pad and enclosed courtyard, while older kids tend to gravitate to Sandpiper’s tennis courts and game room or Sea Gull’s basketball courts and fishing setup. If you want a quieter, grown-up-friendly stay, Casa’s enclosed pool deck and 25+ booking policy are a good fit.
