Castaway’s Seafood and Grill is a testament to resilience and culinary excellence. Founded in 1993 by Danny Danglade, a “castaway” from his family’s restaurant business, the establishment quickly became an island favorite. The journey began in a building that once housed “Grandma’s Kitchen” and the “Chicken Coop.” In 2005, the Jones Family from Port Aransas took charge, steering Castaway’s towards continued success.

The story of Castaway’s Seafood & Grill took an unexpected turn on August 25, 2017, when Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on the original Castaway’s location on Alister Street. However, the spirit of Castaway’s prevailed, and on August 25, 2018, they reopened across the street in a new location.
