Looking to get away with some girlfriends? Port Aransas is the perfect choice! This beautiful island town is within driving distance from many major cities: Dallas (7 hours); Houston (4 hours); Austin (4 hours); San Antonio (3 hours). Besides laying poolside and beachside, here are some things we think you and your girlfriends would love:

Grab a Luxury Charcuterie Board!

If you’re taking the ferry from Aransas Pass, grab a luxury charcuterie board from Rye & Ree Charcuterie   before heading over! You can also have a board delivered to the island for $10. Rye and Ree is owned by Marcy Hammond, who turned this hobby into a thriving business while finishing respiratory school. She now serves the entire coastal area with beautiful, Instagram-worthy boards. All spreads come on disposable palm leaf eco friendly boards, and she even creates “grazing tables” for larger gatherings! You can order one of her beautiful boards via Facebook messenger.

Rent Beach Cruiser Bikes from Island Motor Bikes

Explore the island by bicycle! You can rent a beach cruiser for as little as $15 and explore all around the island. With cup-holders on each bike, you can ride easy with a beverage of choice on hand. Port A is a bike friendly city with lots of room for cyclists with bike lanes and wide sidewalks. Cruise down Cotter Avenue and J Carr Boulevard to get a fun view of the many beautiful docked boats, or take the bikes directly on the beach and ride along the shoreline for incredible views of the ocean. You can pick up a bike map at the shop for a complete list of the many bike routes available.

Grab Espresso and Gelato at Coffee Waves

This local coffee shop never disappoints. Serving up coffee, espresso, tea, fresh made gelato, and panini sandwiches – there is something for everyone! Enjoy the casual and comfy café where you can sit and chat for as long as you’d like, or enjoy the breezy patio and relax together in laid back Adirondack chairs. There is live music every Friday and Saturday night, so come back in the evening for dessert and a taste of local talent!

Grab a Bloody Mary at Grumbles Seafood Co.

Keep it casual and head to Grumbles Seafood Co. for an amazing Bloody Mary. You can come straight off the beach and enjoy the local’s favorite cocktail – or many others on the menu! Grumbles serves amazing, locally sourced fresh seafood including wild caught Gulf of Mexico shrimp and drum from local fisherman. With an unrivaled view of the marina and waterfront dining, you will not only love your time at Grumbles, you will walk away with some seriously post-worthy photos!

Cheers, ladies!
